Hypercities is a MacArthur-funded project that provides new tools for historical analysis using collaborative research and an educational platform. The result is a series of richly curated maps. To create the effect, information is obtained through geo-location and is then organized chronologically.

There are also views for other cities including Los Angeles, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Cairo, and a few other cities.
